It's certainly very good at playing video files. Have had a few 1080p files play flawlessly. Sadly, it's not so good with audio files.

Silence for the first few seconds, won't play multichannel... not great, but it's early in it's life, but at the moment the old xbox with xbmc is better.

Now dropping the new beta onto my Pi to see whats changed.

I've been looking in the Pie shop as I want a pie to run XBMC hopefully using the network to stream from my ZyXEL NAS.

I saw two basic options in the full kits - OpenELEC XBMC and Raspbian. Whats the better option?

Ultimately I only want XBMC but I'm a python developer so would Raspbian be a better option??
