Anyone have non-critical but spam-receiving e-mail accounts?
I'm about to trial some new spam-fighting techniques for my company's servers, and I'd like to get some folk using the system to see how well it works....essentially your domain's e-mail would need pointing to my testing server for it to chug through it.
Messages shouldn't get eaten, but they may - so I'm only looking for people who won't kill me if I lose an important e-mail I have a few accounts lying around which I don't really use for anything important, but which seem to get a ton of spam - those are the sort that I'm looking for, really - though the Holy Grail would be to find people with 'normal' accounts, which receive a mixture of spam and legit e-mail, who're willing to help out I'll need to throw a few thousand e-mails at it - basically the more the better - and will probably test/fiddle for upto a week (though of course if it's being really bumpy and you need your e-mail account back, you can ) Thanks to anyone who is able and willing to help out...I'll think of a thank you |

Hmm, Gmail can forward on e-mail but I'm not sure if Hotmail will..same here
Edit: Hmm, we reckon that forwarded e-mail might not work - since Spamassassin wouldn't recognise it as spam due to the altered headers/source. That said, SA is only one tool in my arsenal - I have some which auto-learn about spam from e-mail content - so it's worth a shot I reckon Last edited by Beansprout; 13-11-2006 at 00:17. |

If Gmail will work, how about setting one up just for this?

Ah I have a gMail account but it doesn't really get that much spam. I'll be using it, though

And just incase forwarded e-mail doesn't work (or doesn't work as well as we hope), spam@twobeds.com can also be used

I have an account I set up for my dad a while back that he never used, only thing is, all it really gets is spam but I could always forward a copy of everything from my main account to it - that way it would get all my legitimate mail plus the spam from both accounts.
I was going to delete that account anyway but I can keep it open for the time being to help you out. Let me know if you can use the account. Stan
