Keeping ones heart healthy.
I love horror films but there's a time and a place. Semi-alone (at work in a big office building with only one other guy), in the dark probably isn't that time or place. I've just been jumping out my skin to the Grudge (remake). I've heard the original is worse/better depending on how you look at it. Maybe that's next.
I did the same with Creep one night I was staying up before work, I got into bed and said to Janet I felt like I'd been assaulted! Thing is I know there's a jump coming up due to the music/sound effects but I just can't help it. *looks around* SHHHHHHH. What was that noise? AARRGGHH!

You offering?
On a lighter note, I watched the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre last night, on my own while having my ankles shredded by 3 kittens and thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I was in the sixth form, a group of us watched The Thing.
Nothing too odd about that. But were in a small hut type place in the middle of nowhere on a Scottish island on a Geography field trip at the time. Let's just say that the lights didn't go off that night. Or the next night either!

When I was a young un, I was quite blasé about horror films. I had watched many at a fairly young age, including the exorcist at the tender age of 14 amongst others.
I thought I was impervious to scary movies until I watched Nightmare on Elm Street a year later - I shat myself watching that and slept with the light on for days after (when I could actually sleep). Stan

I used to find with horror films it's more fun watching it with a group of friends so you could psyche each other out and generally scare the living daylights out of each other... now unless the film is particularly good or I'm in the right mind set I find they seldom make my heart jump bar unexpected loud music effects and sudden bits of actions tied in with the music/effect.
I just picture you sat in the corner of a large open plan office letting go this occaisional shriek and gasp! I hope the effects aren't too scarring.

I was actually sat in the pitch dark on the leather sofas in our visitors reception area. PSP in one hand, coffee in the other.

I'm not a screamer when it comes to scary movies, I do the staring at the screen wide-eyed and refuse to look else-where thing....
