Wii vote channel

Since I grabbed the update that enabled the news channel my Wii hasn't been playing nicely.

Nothing other than the Wii channel, messaging and internet connection test will accept that there is a working internet connection. The news, weather & shop channels tell me that they can't connect and when I try to update it says that the internet connection isn't setup so it dumps me into the internet connection setup screen where if I do a connection test it works first time every time.
