Once the infection starts to shrink Aitch the worst is over and he can swap to the pills from the drips pretty much there and then. Once it has been set on the road to recovery it pretty much does slowly over time.
Only thing is the elbow will be in a bit of pain for a few weeks after at least, well similar pain to what he has now, after that it settles down to a dull ache now and then which clears in time. Just the muscles around the elbow will be pretty weak from this i found so he needs to be careful or he will know about it if he over does it too soon lol SCM

Just waiting to hear what the doctor says this morning when they come round. From SCM's description it sounds like things are going in the right direction and from what the doctor said yesterday he will be out for the weekend. I will warn him to make sure he rests it though - luckily it is his left arm and he is righthanded which helps a bit.

I'm very sore but I am home now with lots of antibiotics to take, I'm not sure about Saturday at the moment, in a lot of ways I'd like to come but I'd also like to feel comfortable and thats not really going to happen for a few days so we'll have to see.
Hospital swung from nightmarish to bearable, I'll probably relate a few tales in time. Thanks for all your posts and good wishes and thanks to Zirax for the card MB |

If you were in the open wards i would expect some horror stories MB, i was lucky when i was in they had me in a private room in the eye ward beside people who had serious leg ops in the open bit next door.
