Hey people

Bit of an update! We were supposed to head out to KTM Basel this week to have our bikes kitted but there’s been some minor delays with some parts so we’re hanging fire until next week! Eeee excited! For a sneaky view, here's one:

YAY!

We both have had a pretty awesome couple of weeks! We popped off roading with some friends in North Wales (JABA Mundus!) and my good grief it was a giggle! I managed to hug a tree several times (some hilarious footage to come) and also had a fight with some big rocks! Fortunately this was at the end of the day and I came away laughing but with a rather swollen hand which made me sound like I had tourettes due to the colourful words which would spontaneously spill out of my mouth when changing gear on the way home!

Rainbooooow!

Empty my boots of a river...

The result of a fight with a rock!

Due to an injury as a kid I have no sensation in my thumb so just to double check all was well we did pop to the hospital to have it checked over and they said it was potentially a fractured scaphoid!! BOO HISS! I’ve since been back though for another xray and WOOHOO, they discharged me plasterless! A couple of weeks and I’ll be back on the bike fine!

I’ve been swotting up some more on visas and what... especially since all the commotion in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan. We’re keeping a close eye on it all and playing it by ear... rumour has it though it’s all calming a fair bit! Fingers crossed eh!

Also been learning how to change tyres... ahoy noobiness!

Other than that, all is mega!

Thanks again for all your support and follows, not too long now til we’re off! Wheee!

1 week and counting!

Current emotions fall mainly under nervousness which is accompanied with its good pal knackeredness! Riding lately hasn't been a great pleasure, with 10-12hours on the road, generally at night and on next to nothing food wise. With everything being so last minute due to the bike delays we've been extremely pressured on time which has had us near breaking point. There have been moments where we have both sat exhausted and admitted that if everything did go to pot and we couldnt go we would probably sigh a huge relief! Most of these days and emotions tend to be overcome by a good hot meal and nights sleep though!

Saying good bye to friends and family is turning out to be quite emotional too, which naturally ends up tugging on heart strings!

I'm not sure how the week is going to roll out. The house is sold tomorrow which means we can then afford the rest of our kit, we are then trundling up to London to get our visas stamped and then we have to finalise the prepping of the bikes! All in all I don't think we will have much time to think too in depth

So! Emotional times! Looking forward to seeing some friends this week and at the weekend when we can both finally switch off and relax

It's going to be a stupendous adventure for sure!

See you tomorrow??

Ps just realised I totally missed the newspaper article.

It was all great...till they mentioned where you lived...down to the road :/

How many 1000s of pounds of kit could have been stolen thanks to them?? Numpties!

Hello people! Not been around much so thought I'd say boo and give a mini update and ask how your new 2013 year is cracking?!

All is mega here, the trip is mental but fun! Currently in Egypt, Alexandria (stunning city) and have had a scary amazing and surreal few weeks! Libya is awesome beyond belief although my lasting memories of it now will coincide with days of spice girls and guns! I've met gorgeous people, experienced unbelievable kindness, support and hospitality, nomtastic food, guns, kids with guns, officials threatening me with their guns as I refused a kiss, infookingsane riding (Egypt is mentally frazzling to ride in yet hilarious!), Star Wars sets, roman ruins, broken bike bits, bribery, corruption, luxury, poverty, tanks, bombed hotel rooms to sleep in, £1 petrol stops for a full 30litres, camels, camel heads, tears, laughter, manic laughter, desert storms, Italian gropey doctors of doom, off roading, shewees, sand storms, torrential flooding and rains, snow, love and hate and sheer overwhelming joy and awe.

And to think, a year ago I couldn't even a motorbike and so many doubted we'd do this!

It's amazing. A complete eye opener and life changing experience! So happy! Do miss a few things (namely showers and friends and family!) but loving it!

How are you all didderling? What's news? If anyone fancies joining us at any part of our journey then do do hope you're all mega and smiling
