I died enormously inside when Paris Travel-Inn yelped as she got put in a police car "No, I can't go to jail - my fans need me!!". She's too dumb to come out with something like that herself, it had to be an observation about the number of people that revere her in the USA. On another note, rock on the fact women are only a few years away from getting jab.

The jab is only effective at the moment (correct me if im wrong anyone) if you are still a virgin, because most, if not all cervical cancers are caused by the HPV virus which is carried by men and women. So if you have had sex there is a chance you could already have the HPV virus which is why they are targeting 12 - 13 year olds at the moment in the hope that they are catching them young enough before they have had sex. Its three injections, spread a month apart.

Crikey, hadn't realised it was out already..suppose it makes sense thinking what year it is.
Kind of messed up to think they're having to target 12-13 year olds...what has happened to being that young and innocent. I swear all I thought about at that age was taking it as far as Baywatch..

of topic slightly, it seemed weird that a village I lived next to was in the limelight this week.

She's famous, and has cancer.....that's as complicated as it gets. Or do you think if a more credible (in your opinion) celebrity of equal fame status was suffering from the same condition then more women would be going for checks? This is a simple case of a household name being stricken down with a terrible disease. Which household name it is has absolutely no bearing on the issue. Quote:

Like many other people, I have not got much time for Jade Goody or her like. However, I would not wish on anyone what she is going through. I feel truly sorry for her.

They said the age was 25 but they'd do one anyway just to check everything out and sent it off, did all the tests with it and I was fine. I'm pretty sure they will test it... I would be shocked to find out they didn't. I'm sure my Doctor would be in the wrong had he told me I was "all clear" and yet the smear hadn't been analysed. |

My girlfriend requested one specifically- her GP said ok and made arrangements for her; when she attended the nurse undertaking the test refused to do it saying "she couldn't due to her age" (22).
Despite my girlfriend's insistance in the matter with GP's backing, the nurse said she would take the smear but would be "unable to send it off". Infuriating system which left my girlfriend rather upset - when following this up the patient liason said they understand the upset and the GP was wrong for saying they'd do it. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing sometimes.

It's so important, you'd think it would be discussed in school - and that applies to both sexes.

The cynic in me suggests that in the case of Jingo's girlfriend, the GP knew that the test wouldn't get done but in the interests of good patient relations / to avoid time wasted in an argument thought s/he would leave it up to the nurse to explain the rules. Alternatively and somewhat worryingly, perhaps the GP really didn't know - as a matter of interest, was the GP a male?
