Moon

Erm...didn't like it. I felt a bit like I did when I was watching Donnie Darko - feeling like the film was hinting at something I wasn't quite getting, then getting annoyed with myself for not understanding, then getting annoyed at the film for being obscure. Then it ended.
I was expecting a claustrophobic, suspenseful, thoughtful drama and that's what the first third was. After that it just seemed to get a bit directionless. Despite having read a number of reviews and websites about it since, I'm still not entirely sure what its point was. Disappointed, but I seem to be very much in the minority.

I was a little confused. I gave it a good score, but mostly for the cinematography and the concept, which I thought was good. Didn't see why so many people thought it was so superb though, but I guess we're all different!

I watched Towering Inferno last night - awesome disaster film, proper Christmas tradition (always used to be on on my birthday!).

Oh and Avatar. I think I'd give it a 7/10 but possibly more when I see it in 3d

District 13 is ace! Parkour is the coolest sport ever!

Watched District 9. It was really good, more action packed than I thought it would be. It was so sad though! It's totally what would happen if aliens visited and it makes me angry at the human race!

8/10.

Dead Snow

A ski vacation turns horrific for a group of teenagers, as they find themselves confronted by an unimaginable menace: Nazi zombies

7/10 This is actually really good in a comedy how they die way. Even people who thought it was going to be terrible and hate the genre found it watch able. Which is prety good seeing as it is subtitled as well.

Star Trek

Director J.J. Abrams (Alias) re-teams with his MI: III screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to bring a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time. Featuring a young, new crew venturing boldly where no man has gone before, Star Trek depicts Romulan time traveller Nero's bloody quest for revenge against Spock and the Federation.

6/10
I'm not a trekki and can't actually stand the original series or Next generationn. Voager and eneterprise I can watch but wouldn' choose to.
But I actually really enjoyed this good space action.

Sherlock Holmes

Detective Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr.) and his stalwart partner Watson (Law) engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.

8/10
Don;t think of this as Sherlock Holmes he is an action hero, however saying that if you go in with an open mind it is a very good entertaining film.

Sherlock Holmes : 10/10 (although 1.5 of that is for the scrumptious Mr D Jnr)

Avatar 3D - 9/10. Definitely how this movie was meant to be seen.

Quarantine - Caught it on Sky. Surprised by it. Got a little over complicated towards the end but still definitely worth a watch. Stars Dexter's little sister and no-one else really notable to me (except the guy who ran the law firm in Ally McBeal). Lots of scary moments (and I don't usually jump!) If you enjoyed Blair Witch/Cloverfield hand-held style action, then you'll like this.
