Fortunately something I get only rarely, but you're right - still annoying.

Ere I didn't bash anyone, I just celebrated my own "single awareness day"

I do hate the commercial side of it in the sense that for weeks the tv and radio have been banging on about valentines day, and it sucks if you're single believe me

Am shutting up now, had a nice evening with Pheebs, and sorry if I upset anyone yesterday.

While Valentines Day itself doesn't bother me (even though I've never even had so much as a card, but that's my problem not anyone else's), companies jumping on the bandwagon does. Same thing happens at Christmas too.

Someone mentioned to me there was a Nero Valentine's special? Why??? :/

New one: the way music (especially live performances in person or recordings) makes me super emotional. Why do the most unlikely songs make me tear up?

It's in between the 'Sorry' and the 'Get Well Soon' section

I love Valentines Day and see it as another excuse to go out for a meal with Emma

I understand it might not be fun for a singleton hearing about it continuously through the media but there seems to be such a vehement hatred of the day from single and attached people who are desperate to convey it as a commercial opportunity.

Yes it is a commercial day, in the same respect that every annual occassion is addressed by shops and the media. Kitten's comparison to Father's Day is so apt!

I very much doubt people will be organising an '****-easter party', or barraging their social networking sites with chocolate egg hatred as people who buy mini-eggs are clearly suckers to commercial advertising

Today's irrational hatred - THE EVOCATIVE SMELL OF PLASTICINE!!!

I think the equivalent is when you just send the little cards you get from the clinic*

*I've heard this is what happens.

LOL! Plasticine. Makes me yearn for long hot summers and the barbers shop thing that I never got! Also getting told off for treading into gaudy orange & brown carpet. Ahhhh.
