Cool, just pre-ordered Prof @ £89 so at least I can get a legit copy at the end of the year.

Decided to get a 3rd copy of HP while I could. Most places have allready started putting prices up.
However pcworld is still £45/£90

They are going to make a lot of money by lowering the price! I very nearly got all my machines with Vista, thank god I didn't.

Currys will take your money when it is shipped to you. Had to get it from them today as Amazon doesn't like my new address and I got caught up at work yesterday. Since Currys won't take your money yet, I'm assuming PC World will be the same.

pc world, currys, amazon, play will not take money til you ship
ebuyer looks like it will not take money until they ship, unless you use something like Googlecheckout then it will take money. I expect non will take money till dispatch.

does anybody know what kind of a delay there would be on this being available on MSDN?
I asked our admin but he said there'd be one, but how long he's no idea |

Both Amazon & Play have used up their allocation and also been removed from the list of resellers on Microsoft's site. Ebuyer are still on there and listing the products at the pre-order price but won't let you actually order it. Looks like it won't be long before supplies dry up completely.
Rightly or wrongly, I'd imagine MS are going to get some stick for this. They did say "while stocks last" but, given that the pre-order window was widely advertised as over three weeks, to run out in days doesn't look very good. I've actually ordered an extra copy of Pro from Currys today as I'm not sure whether I'm going to want Pro or HP on one particular machine. Whichever I end up not using when the time comes will be sold - possibly at a small profit but that's not my motivation in ordering it. Looks like quite a few people have been ordering as many as they can from multiple retailers with the express intention of selling them at a profit upon release. That's going to add to the frustration of those who miss out on this offer.

Well I got 2* pro and 3* hp. To be used between myself and my sister.
I would be a liar if I said I wasn't tempted to nab a few more and stuff on ebay at an inflated (but under retail) price. |
