I made some mincepies on Sunday (see facebook for pics) - bloody gorgeous they were too.
I'm not sending cards (I never do) seems like a waste of paper and whilst it's nice to receive a card, I'd rather send a text or drop a call and wish them well to let the people know I'm thinking of them, than waste trees, money and postage. Unless you make them, which does make them more personal - but it's too much effort and I don't have time to do such things. Won't be getting a tree or decorations myself, but my parents no doubt will bring the tree in from the garden (we keep it planted throughout the year and then bring it in for Christmas, then plant it again). It depends whether they can be bothered or not. Won't really phase me either way. I'll start looking on't internet for gifts in a week or so, but seeing as I have no free days until Christmas day it'll have to be lastminute.com in terms of purchasing. I'm short of cash this month (had to pay back my court fees to the company) so I'm going to have to limit myself to a fairly tight budget unlike last year where I spent far too much! Can't think of anything original for my 'rents, but my sis has told me what she wants as she's not able to locate it (sheet music for the piano) and there's nothing I can't find so at least that'll make her happy. not feeling particularly Christmassy though as we're making 6 people redundant before Christmas which is pretty ****ty - and I'm starting to feel under a lot of pressure. But I'm trying to keep my chin up and look forward to the 1st week off for Christmas I've had for 8 years so that'll be nice - only going to be the 4 of us, and I'll miss being in France - but maybe 2 days with just the 4 of us will be nice. I will pop into work on Christmas day to have a cuppa with the chaps working though. I'm finding it really hard to feel relaxed and happy despite it supposedly being a happy time of the year. Still I'll probably celebrate the Orthodox Christmas (6th Jan) - it's always a lovely atmosphere in the church for the Epiphany it never fails to make me feel a bit more "alive" I guess. Sorry for the blurb. I thought I'd contribute to the thread nonetheless.

Mum & Dad brought our Christmas tree over from Cannock Chase yesterday. He's sitting in a bucket of water smelling lovely at the moment. Will probably put him up next weekend because the lounge needs tidying first.
No presents bought as yet and no idea what to get anyone. I only get pressies for the family though, so it won't be a massive rush... apart from Dad's bday which is next weekend. Dads are hard enough to buy for at the best of times, but birthday and Christmas so close together is a nightmare!!

order 2kg of venison, Rapidough has arrived and ordered Night At The Museum 2.. Should be a good weekend.
Still can't think of any presents for my dad or sis. Anyone bought a house and if so is there anything you would universally need? Sis just moved into her own place. Mum= subscription to http://www.findmypast.com Bro = 8 free paintball vouchers from http://www.ministryofpaintball.com/u...ll-tickets.php they were in Cabot circus. Got 24 for £50. Keeping the rest for my birthday. 2 good friends = Will either take to lunch at www.casamiarestaurant.co.uk or a stand up night. God daughter = butterfly charm
