It was a tough battle, but I can cope well with it now.

Sent a quick email, expected nothing. They called me this morning and are sending me some vouchers! Better than nowt

Just got a bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk and had a problem with it. Decided to contact them - expected outcome?

Hi,

Whilst I certainly enjoy the vast range of products manufactured by Cadburys I came across something I thought rather strange.

Normally I am quite content with a normal bar of Dairy Milk (6 chunks) however the other day I happened to see a bar labelled:

Bar & a Half

Excellent I thought as I was on my way to visit my parents. However on arriving at my parents house I came upon a dilemma. The promised bar and a half wasn't there.

For some odd reason 'A bar and a Half' only has 8 chunks of chocolate. As you are probably aware a standard bar has 6 chunks.

If:

6/2 = 3

Then surely a bar and a half must be:

6+3 = 9

Sadly this is not the case - how has this simple mathematical error managed to go undetected for so long?
I think it's the vodka that has made me think so clearly but I figured it would be worth a laugh

Recently bought a Bosch Warm Up Regulator (fuel injection part) on Ebay from a place in America. Hard to find these days, so after a lot of umm-ing and ahh-ing I clicked the buy it now for $225 and $30 delivery.

Got stung £31 VAT on it, and after paid went to pick it up from parcelforce.

Got home, and the bloody thing was a rebuilt unit, and not all that good a one. I could have got one of my existing ones done for about £90 so wasn't impressed.

Emailed the seller and sent photos of it showing the faults. Got a reply saying sorry and offered a refund plus $7 to cover return postage. I said not enough as would end up ~$60 out of pocket.

Got another email saying offering $7. I replied again saying not enough.

Came home today to find a full refund of the original payment including the postage, and a not saying didn't notice it had been sent to the UK, and said to keep it with apologies

So just got to claim the VAT back now! Seriously tempted to flog it and after recovering any losses I incurred sending the rest to the people I bought it from after their goodwill.

Should in theory get about £90 for it

Got a response on this one

Thanks for your recent email.

I have contacted the Marketing Brand Manager for Dairy Milk and she has confirmed that the new 'bar and a half' slogan is in fact correct and refers to the weight of the bar and sizes of chunks of the bar. In terms of weight the Bar and a half has a bigger weight than it should have.

A normal bar is: 49grs
As a result a normal bar and half should be: 49 + 24.5= 73.5g

However the actual weight of our new 'bar and half' is 75g

I hope we have answered your question and thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Regards

I was in a bad mood the other day and rattled a complaint off to Next. Basically we had gone into Next about half an hour before they closed, and just as we had walked through the door, they announced the changing rooms were closing :/ So I turned round and walked straight back out as I do need to try stuff on before I buy!

E mailed Next to say i thought that was ridiculous and assumed they would lose sales from it.

Today got a really in depth letter thanking me for bringing the issue to their attention, no it's not their policy, and explaining what steps they had taken with the staff involved. Also enclosed a £20 gift card! Result!

ORANGE RAGE - AGAIN!!! <-- this smiley does not communicate my rage enough!

Today they cut me off!!! Because I had cancelled the Direct Debit.

So I called them before I left the office and asked how much I owed £236 :/

Hmmm... too much I say... after speaking to 2 people and getting transferred incorrectly once... I get through to a helpful (so I thought) young man who gave me his extension and everything and put me back on as a goodwill gesture while he got to the bottom of things.

All I wanted to know is what the £236 was for as I wasn't expecting to pay more than £80 max (the two months bills I hadn't paid). He said that he would call me back in the next two hours and he hasn't.

SWINE!!! (he is not a swine now )

Lol... at least I got his number... am sure he'll contact me tomorrow, but this is doing my head in...going to type up all of my notes of correspondance now to send a complaint letter.

BB x

Edit: Scott called me back, he is disappointed that I am John's case and he can't get involved but if I don't hear from John in the next 48hrs I can call him and ask him to take over

Raaarrrgghhh!!!

I thought I would call and try to cancel my contract, thinking that the team on disconnections would try to persuade me to stay, they didn't. They just said I could end the contract for free on 2oth Jan or pay £144.97 to have it done now.

Writing a letter.
