Don't lie you moron members of public!!

Harumph.
That's fair enough, but what if the customer has specified that they will not be in, and specifically asked if you can leave it with no. x, who is expecting it?

Also, while you are having a go at lying public, the delivery people do it too. Like the man who claimed he had tried to deliver a blind last week, and had written down the delivery for a time when I was not only home, but had spent an hour or so in the kitchen, which looks out onto the front door.... and then also claimed to have left a card at the same time... really? did it somehow get lost between the letterbox (you know, the one you never visited) and the floor?

The guy who actually did deliver the blind the next day then told me that he had a whole van full of stuff that was supposed to be delivered the previous day but, somehow, had all failed to be delivered...

I once had a delivery for about £800 of computer components dropped over the top of my 6ft back gate to land in a nice puddle and sit in the rain for hours before I got home.

We get a written instruction in the morning when we're sorting to leave it with a neighbour (there's like a little sheet stuck to our frame)

I've had none of those!

Yeh some people from work do lie but I'm complaining specifically about the people who have lied in my case - I know I went to their doors and knocked! I know I've had experience of bad posties but I don't want to be tarred with the same brush! My manager hears about the complaints and it looks bad on me!

Jingo - zomg!! What did they say/do!?

Taken back to the office please. I live in a building that has been converted into flats but I wouldn't want it left with a neighbour (1 neighbour I don't know from Adam, 1 neighbour is harder to get a hold of than walking down to the sorting office, I also used to have an abusive alcoholic neighbour and having to go knocking on his door I did not appreciate). I also can't think of many safe places that you can leave parcels, there definitely isn't anywhere safe you can leave one at my place.

Leave mine anywhere. Neighbours are fab, road is pretty safe. just goes to show, I guess. They probably can't win.

Dont' worry, you won't!!

Besides, apart from that one instance, I generally have a good experience with most delivery companies, and my usual postie is great.

I was more annoyed by the restrictive rules based around the particular companies delivery methods. It's so antiquated to refuse to offer your customers any flexibility nowadays. If you want to be competetive in the Internet sales market you simply have to offer the customer the possibility of getting their product with minimal hassle.

HMmm so I am doing the right thing really taking it back to the office! Good stuff! There's one chap I have met who has said to leave it with a neighbour or round the back if he's not in! I guess I'll get to know people on my round soon.

Can understand why you'd be annoyed at the vol!
