Erk. That's not cool at all. Here's hoping a bit of a turn around can knock it on the head while there is still the chance it might go away.

It's good that it's not a done deal yet. You can still turn this around hopefully, fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed for you fella xx

Yeah, true. My mum had bad circulation to start with so that won't have helped. As you say, if properly controlled (or better yet, sent packing, fingers crossed) then besides a swift change of diet it's very manageable.

I hope you can manage to control/lessen it, controlling it with diet isn't as hard as it seems, I grew up on a diabetic friendly diet *hugs*

Oh dear i hope you catch it in time so that it might go away, i know that you will try your best so *crosses fingers*
I know a lot of insulin dependant diabetics and they all lead very normal lives, it is easy to control if you try and doesn't need to rule you. |

If it is the diabetes nurse at the surgery in Maidstone she is fine MB from my experience with her unless she has changed since i was there that is.
Losing weight, changing your diet does work as it worked well for me. As even though they say there isnt a borderline type 2 situation i was hovering just below the sugar level they would associate type 2 with, so diet control ended up as my option. My way of losing weight however isnt one i would recommend as depression related weight loss isnt exactly fun lol She will run through all the options with you and advise you food wise what to eat and what to limit yourself to eat as well. Some of the diabetic websites i looked at when i was diagnosed with it weren't the best for info, as eating healthier with more fruits can be as bad as eating crap. You have to avoid natural sugars as well as man made added sugars which some people forget to tell you. You will have some evils associated with the diabetes though MB and the dreaded eye screening test is one of them i hated. Eye drops from hell that leave you sick as a dog for a day while you get over them from the eye exam Foot wise it is circulation and also diabetic ulcers they look for so they will keep an eye on all this for you. If you want any more info MB just yell as still got some webpages associated with it and other info re sugar intake control. Theres a lot they tell you to eat other than fruit that also need to be watched carefully due to the release of sugar from these foods that they dont seem to tell you about. SCM

Hope you can work through it and kick it into touch. It's not great news but at least it was diagnosed early enough that there are steps you can take to ward it off. Kick its ass!
