Meh... The Human Torch > Silver Surfer still in combat. I'm thinking Johnny is so overpowered maybe I'll see if I can knock up a video to demonstrate how ridiculous it is! I've got this remote explosion power that triggers every second for 120+ damage on multiple targets for pities sake. Not many people can stand that for too long, and a long range fireball power that hits for about similar dps, all without even stressing his energy levels.

Ah, but Johnny can't heal himself and the rest of the team can he?

I do agree that he's very strong though, it took me until his Simulator mission to find that out as I never used him before that. Same goes for Iceman, another hugely powerful guy (his Ice Shield slows anyone down if they come near him) that I never used until his mission.

I like VT3, enjoying the mini games though I find the actual tennis matches a bit too easy. It has to be fun though or I'd never be able to get most of the achievements for it (and I do plan on getting most of them)

No rush with Condemned, though when I get it back I'll be printing off a guide to all the birds etc so I can go through it once and get most of the achievements in one play through

NHL 2K7 arrived for me yesterday as well, should be easy enough to crack on through that and get all of the offline achievements. Severely doubt I'll bother going for any of the online ones.

Wait till you get to the King of Players tournament, I tell you if Tim was a good as he was in that game he'd been world number 1 in no time

For me it did start to get very repetitive as I was ranked 3rd in the world and couldn't get past Tim to get the number 1 spot. I'll probably get it again soon just need a break from it I think.

Prince of Persia is good, been playing through and quite enjoying it.

I'll look forward to that I love challenging tennis games but I've never really had one. I only ever lost 1 match in Top Spin 2, and that was to a top player when my character was low ranked and low skilled. They all seem to need a certain style of play to beat them, so it's just figuring out that style. From what I know of serve and volley players, against Tim I'd do everything I could to keep him at the back of the court, then pass him as he approaches the net. In games it's generally very hard to lob a net player (though it was easy in Top Spin 2), so I wouldn't want him to get set at the net.

Sounds like fun though

Yeah forget lobbing him he'll just smash it. If you get the nack let me know as I can win every tournament now relatively easy with a similar pattern of play but that one got me. I'll come back to it in a couple of months.

It certainly is fun, just wondering what SG will send me next

Why would he need to? Johnny can take out almost all enemies (except Boss spawns) before they barely even scratch even him. Even against the Boss spawn he's triggering off the health & energy globe spawn within a half dozen shots!

Going Chronologically backwards in games (I believe), next on my list is X-Men Legends II

I see what you mean. I got to 2nd in the world, beating everyone and winning everything, and played against Federer in the King of Players tournament. I was ahead 4-1, coasting as I had his game read perfectly, then he went superhuman on me, smashing the ball at lightning pace and getting to everything I could hit at him, and he won 6-4. I guess it's another year or two around the training sessions improving my skills and then I should be able to take him. Even when he went superhuman I was getting close in each game, so if my player skills were better I can hopefully get past him.

Oh look.. Johnny Storm is a near carbon-copy of Sunfire. Fancy that
Sunfire doesn't seem quite as over-powered though with his ignite ability.

Ugly as sin graphics, considering the game isn't actually that old (2005), not a mipmapped texture in sight! Thankfully Nvidia allows you to set custom graphics settings, so I've got this bumped up to 4x Aliasing, and 4x Ansiotripic filtering, and everything else set to high quality to at least smooth things out a little
It really does hint that M:UA is just using a tweaked version of this engine though, even down to that utterly bizarre split down the middle of the characters faces. Here's hoping the next version of the game gets past that uglyness.
