Just found a free nzb site
http://www.1337-nzbs.com Only thing that I don't like is that it tracks what you have downloaded. Handy to get tips on what to download. I've got enough porn anyway Can't seem to get to nzbmatrix tonight either |

Newzbin is just a website that basically list most of the stuff that is available for download and gives you an easy way to see what you can get. MtE |

I would say nzbmatrix>newzbin at the moment. At nzbmatrix you only pay once for lifetime membership, newzbin is subscription based. Ok so it is very cheap anyway, but why pay the extra?

Has anyone used the Pan newsreader in Linux?
I want to have a newsreader on my Ubuntu laptop and looking around, Pan looked like it may be more user friendly than others. It apparently handles NZB, yEnc and multiserver files which should simplify matters somewhat. Anyone have any experience with Linux newsreaders?

I'm using this Stan. Handles my torrents as well as NZB, is web based and doesn't need you to be logged on for it to work, just for the PC to be on
The traditional client I used to use was klibido, but of course that's a KDE app.

It's a better service, a monthly cost can go to server upkeep and (it doesn't but) staff for editors. Newzbin and all the other index sites are still WAY behind whats actually on the newsgroups, one reason i stay with Easynews, if its not on Newzbin, its still likely its lying around hidden and not found by an editor on usenet... So the more it costs, i'd be inclined to think the better coverage you get? Never actually tested it though... Haven't paid for weeks with newzbin in ages anyway the free search is good enough for me

Looks interesting but I'm not entirely clear how it works. I assume I have to install it on my webspace on the webhost's server? Can you supply a little detail as to how it works please - I want to make sure it's not going to be beyond my limited skills before I try it

You'd probably get told off if you ran it on your web hosts box, though I guess it depends on the host
I have a web server on my Linux box (apache), and I put the b4rt files into a directory under it's root (called b4rt). I point my browser at http://127.0.0.1/b4rt , run through the setup wizard thing (where it'll ask to setup a database, I've used MySQL but you might be able to use sqllite and forget most of that step), and that's it. I can access that from anywhere and monitor/queue downloads
