News today of Sony making 16,000 staff redundant, does anybody really think Sony will reduce the PS3 now? Its still far to expensive compared to the 360

That numbers jumped a bit, it was 800 when I heard it on the radio this morning.

I dont think they can. Sony recently increased the price of everything else (TV's HI-FI etc) to compensate for the weakening pound, but left the PS3 as it is. I guess that's the best we're going to get for a while.

Even last week David Reeves said “No we are not going to go down in price; neither are we going to go down in price on PS3 in spring time either. Absolutely not, whatever you might have heard to the contrary."

If you're not buying for the first time (ie replacing a dead one, or having a second one) I'd just get the Arcade. It has a wireless controller (it was the old core's that had wired ones), a 5 arcade game disc bundle and memory card to flog.

Well, possibly. If you get the new Jaspers the memory is internal. But that does have the 65nm GPU so should be pretty solid.

Sounds like it might be worth a visit to Woolworths early as possible tomorrow to see if they've any bargains. Closing Down Sale - Everything must go.

All the consoles had gone from ours. I checked already. Loads of games left though.

Seems Cex have caught onto the play.com sale. they will only pay cash for the Far Cry 2 tin on the 360 for the price of the normal version which is £25 not £30

Had a nosey in our local Woolies today - they've got 10% off consoles but up to 50% of some games!
