I don't think so, I'd always make sure you were comfy with what I was doing. I get on well with pretty much all of my colleagues because I try hard not to piss them off (unless I mean to, hehe!) plus, I'd know I could trust you so no need to confirm! The subject thing is no more!!

Ah but it's a great feeling when the manager says "...and? The person telling you that was right so stop wasting my time".

Yes they may be just letting you have the email for reference but still

I quite often email people at work for things because I need the audit trail of being able to explain where XX figure and YY contract referred to comes from. If they're physically close i.e. same floor and I know them then I'll probably speak to them first but otherwise the phone call comes if they haven't responded in a reasonable time. It helps them to an extent because they've then got a written request but perhaps more importantly it helps me to remember what it is I've asked for and why at any given time - the other way to do it is to write big lists of what I've asked for and whether they've responded and I'd still need to do something in terms of preparing an audit trail.

Irrational annoyance of the past few days has been the latest Pirates of the Caribbean trailers - not for what they show as much as the simple idea that they've not called time on the franchise. I appreciate this may not be popular with our resident Cap'n Jack afficionados but it should have been finished after the first one really, there was about enough material for one film, maybe two but they made three somehow and extended the running time on each occasion. That's another pet hate of mine, the curse of extended running times and a directors inability to cut but I can save that rant for another day.

I email the girl who sits to the left of me at work when I've asked her to do a job for me but not the girl to the right (unless she asks for an email so she can flag it and remember to do it!)

Girl on left = don't trust to do the job I ask as is lazy/never uses her initiative/forgetful (I even CC our manager in to the emails!)

Girl on right = good friend and trustworthy!

Awww I know POTC will annoy people! I have to admit I like all of the films, not just for Cap'n Jack but cos it's my kind of slapstick humour and I LOVVVE the costume designs and sets! I think people who don't like Star Wars would say similar about the 6 episodes, although I love those too

Sigh.

Cap'n Jack Sparrow.

*swoons!*

I used to get this all the time, doesn't tend to happen now as I have no problem hitting reply-all and explaining why I'm right and they are... less so

Used to work at a well known DIY store, customer wanted money off a damaged frame so I had a look and agreed to 20%, company standard is 10% - which I told them. They got upset and got my boss (assistant store manager involved). He took a look and told them 10%, then told them they'd voided their right to 20% when they decided to take me up on my offer and it was 10% or nothing.

Good days.

Not irrational... but having no feeling in my thumb. This occurred from a previous injury and it's because of the below it's an absolute ass:

I have managed to crush my hand in a digger arm today and it's now very swollen but fingers are operating! Yay! Thumb though, due to no feeling I have no idea if it's damaged other than what I see and it's FAAAAAT as! It moves still but I get a tingly sensation in my wrist when I do that. If I recall rightly a similar kind of sensation I had when I broke my wrist!

Can't pick bugger nothing up! I just end up laughing silly and collapsing on the floor with tingly pain!

Boo.

Don't want to go to A&E. Will wait til swelling subsides!

But yeh. STUPID THUMB OF NO PAIN! The amount of times I've sliced it open and not realised until I noticed blood everywhere... or burn it on a pan etc! God knows how many times I've hit it with a hammer too! It must be obliterated really! Poor thing.

If it's broken then there's not much point waiting for the swelling to go down and it might take days! Go and get it looked at!

What she said. I had to have it recast once the swelling had gone down when I broke my hand. (or rather my brother did) because it didnt fit anymore, but I would still definitely go and get it checked. You dont want to make it worse.

Went and saw my neighbour who's a Doctor! He pulled and prodded the hand about and is convinced it's not broken just bruised due to movability and grip! Said to keep the ice on it and don't use it and if it's bad in the morning pop to A&E

Swelling has gone down buuuut here's it's current status:

(in comparison to my other hand

Will await til the morning and see what happens

Try and keep it elevated as well, sit with your arm propped up on your elbow if you can.
