8/10 First time I've ever watched it, I think the running time put me off watching it as much as anything else as I've meant to watch it for ages but the idea of devoting 2 and 3/4 hours to it wasn't quite appealing enough. Still I finally got round to it tonight and it's a great film with some brilliant performances, it really does come alive when Pacino and De Niro are in the coffee shop.

Layer Cake

A film I kept meaning to see and never had until now. Wish I had watched it sooner. Great acting from a great cast, interesting stroyline with plenty to keep you thinking and a great soundtrack.

Has anyone read the book? How does it compare, worth a read?

As with all of these things, I found the book superior to the film. I did it on audiobook format and it was great, it was 'reading' the book which made me want to see the film.

The Disappearence of Alice Creed

Was ok for a brit flick Gemma Arterton stars in it - I predicted the ending from the start. Really good acting.

A Team

It was ok and Face was lush

but obviously nothing would be as good as the series.

Remember Me

Emo/teen angst film starring Robert Pattison, Claire from Lost and Pierce Brosnan. The best actor of the whole film is the little girl who plays Pattison's sister - Caroline (Ruby Jerins).

The storyline is ok the film is ok and quite tragic. Pattison plays moody v well. Film requires attention.

Yep and in my opinion it's better than the film. Not that it's a bad film, far from it, but the book is better.

Ditto what Feek said really, I tend to prefer the books to the films.

Layer Cake's awesome, it was the film that made Daniel Craig famous.

Funny when seeing older films and him suddenly appearing in them, e.g. Road to Perdition. Doesn't do a bad American accent either.

Possibly the best film Mel Brooks did.

The Soloist

Knew very little about this before watching it - other than the cast and it was about a homeless guy who played Beethoven.

I was let down by the film though. Cast were excellent, but the script let them down. The flashbacks killed a lot of the mood for me. It doesn't seem to know what sort of film it wants to be. Documentary, inspirational film or a sad look at mental illness... Shame.

Dear Sony...

You are not Pixar. Find what you are good at and do that.

On the plus side, it does have a good sense of humour to it and there is some good casting. Mr T and Bruce Campbell in particular.

Unfortunately, for the main cast, my favourite character was Steve the monkey. I don't know if that says more about the script or me...

Pimp

A mockumentary about prostitution and pornography in Soho, starring Robert Cavanagh (he also wrote and directed it) and Danny Dyer playing himself as the boss of the Porn empire.

Seedy, violent and some nasty characters. I liked it!

It lost it's way in the middle a bit but regained it's stride by the end.

8/10

Disturbia

Shia LeBoef in "Rear Window 2, with mobile phones and video cameras", Hitchcock did it better.

Life as We Know it 6/10

Predictable, full of cliches and lots and lots of cute baby shots.

Funny and sad in equal measure, is a decent enough 'romcom' to pass a few hours.

The Social Network - 7/10

Enjoyable enough, entertaining, and I can honestly say that I didn't check my watch once, but won't lose anything at all in translation from big to small screen.

Justin Timberlake nailed the part as an asshole (oh, surprise!) and the guy who plays Eduardo is hot.

That's about it really.
