It was a nice dark green when we got it but after following all the instructions a bright green colour was moving from the bottom of the tree to the top so it was obviously not well.

No tree this year, like the last umpteen years (I do own a plastic one), but at least I've put a few things up this year, unlike previous years. I'm slowly making progress in the battle for floor space, so a tree next year is certainly on the 'to do' list.

Now that's just mean. I'd agree fully with him if you'd said that last weekend, but we're in the right month now so decorations are allowed (begrudgingly - bah humbug).

He's right as well. 12 days before and 12 days after is the tradition, so next Saturday for the decs to go up, and 6th Jan to bring them down again. That's how I've always done it. Anything earlier is just way too early in my book
