I've bought more DVD writters over the past 4 years than i have the bloody media that goes in the damn things. I suppose when you pay £20 per unit, your not going to get the quality and extended MTBF.

cheers guys... i assumed it'd be the drive's age, think i built this thing in 2005 so it's getting on a bit.

Guess i'll have a look for a nice new HD reading, SATA drive.

and as for the RC, used the bootable USB stick option like i had to when i had the same problem with the Beta. thanks though Aboobie
