Go for Fable 2. It's the easiest to play and it possibly more 'fun', then move onto LO, then Vesperia purely based on cost.
On the topic of Kaim, do you not think he's 'devoid of emotion' in the main game purely as a means to get across the other characters stories and converstations in the world? |

I'd go for fable 2 as a starter purely because it can be had for £14 from zavvi if you use quidco. Lost Odyssey is pretty much impossible to buy first hand for a reasonable price any more so just keep an eye out for it in second hand stores and buy it if/when you see a copy at a good price.

Yep good plan, I'll finish up what I have here and then grab Fable II at the end of the month on payday

If it's any help, i got Lost Odyssey in CEX for a tenner, which is at least a fiver cheaper than anywhere else you'll find it. I hate CEX with a passion though so it was a difficult purchase, i had to resist attacking the shop assistant when he said:
'this is a crap game mate, you should get call of duty 4 instead, it's much better' 'but i like JRPGs' i replied 'Yeah well get Mass Effect then, much better than this rubbish' /me snatches game from his hand and leaves, never to return to that hell.
