On the day that your migration completes you may also find that your connection drops for a maximum of 10 minutes whilst work at the exchange is completed. As a consequence you may need to reboot your router. However, this is the only action that will be needed.
ADSL 2+ here we come

That's just what entanet are telling me. Does each provider need their own upgrade or is it done for all at the same time?

Apparently I should see a reasonable speed increase because my router is synced at 8128 which is pretty close to the max the current line can do. Real world increase, who knows?

Hmmm, entanet are a reseller that use the BT wholesale (IIRC) so yep you should get a hefty increase there. When I was with them I started at 6mb and just kept sliding downwards, hence I ended up with Be.

I would say get a router with the tomato or dg team firmware (if you haven't already) to tweak your connection.

I don't get 6mb all the time but often do. Regularly get a decent download speed for files even if web pages are running slow. But yeah, hoping for a decent bump Going to stick with my current router for a while if I can.

Have now changed over. Still currently on the same "package" so up to 8mb. Have just done a speedtest and it says 7.0mb down and 0.28 up which is the fastest yet Should change over to up to 24mb today hopefully

Nice, just done a test on my line. I now sync at 8.08mb which is up from 7.5mb. This is using BE and their ADSL2 service. I use a DG834GT netgear router with the DG Team firmware and I can tweak the SnR right down to 1db to get that.

Oh, are you using opendns as that made a heck of a difference rather than using the ISP's lousy DNS servers.

So that looks like that's it for a while

Mine's a DG834G with standard firmware. UKFSN bloke said prob wouldn't work with adsl2+ but all I had to do was toggle one box

Eclipse weren't bad back in the day but that is cuckoo land pricing. BT is £24.99/m but I can't remember how harshly they throttle.

NEWBURY is on the list too.

Need to check out the upload rate though - and whether there is a package that will handle my data throughput. That's why I like Be* - they don't seem to care.
