I don't have a problem using it, but its like saying i don't have a problem using the Gmail/youtube website on my phone, but i know i'd rather use their relevant apps. Because not only is it easier to navigate and better set out it gives me push notification or in the case of iPhones different media etc... I've done quite fine using BD on my phone, but it something we could install that i'm fairly sure most people (with smartphones) would benefit from.

I'll go with most of what has gone before.
My only possible issue with Tapatalk is how much of it goes through/gets stored on their servers. The answer may well be 'none', but I haven't researched enough to know for sure. Other forums have had issue with this in the past but I don't know if that is still true. This isn't paranoia, since I'm not overly fussed, but others might be. I have more of a beef than most with standard vBulletin due to the large amount of scrolling I have to do, but it's more than manageable (I can even hit the 'new posts' button with a bit of care ) Last edited by Mark; 04-04-2011 at 20:49. |

That is something i'd never thought of, tbh i don't know why (well i haven't actually checked) VB haven't sorted out really decent mobile skin? Surely "it's not that hard"™? And simply recognising mobile browsers and switching with the opportunity of seeing a full site would probably be nice as well. As i said best thing about tapatalk is how it integrates forums with your phone, so you receive push notifications

"Glass half empty": vBulletin have a subscription-based mobile forum app. It's not really in their interests to undercut themselves by offering a free skin.

They do a terrible job of promoting that, i'd never seen it. Also it's free for android... So undercut what exactly?

I've paid for tapatalk, it's only £1ish so no need to start shelling out for anything!

I'll take a look at it and see what's what
I've heard of it before but not really taken a look at's what implemented in the back-end, although I'm sure it's just a simple plug-in. There's also another one called Forum Runner I think.

The only issue I have, which is the same on every forum is if you go to quote a post, and its a long post already filling up the box, theres no way to scroll down within the box to get to the end of the post already there for you to start typing.
