Nope, absolutely nothing.

And I ain't gettin anywhere NEAR that crankshaft when it decides to fire!! Almost 300bhp and over 350ft/lbs isn't something you want grabbing a hold of your arm!! LOL

Ooh that's a bit annoying. Can you put a jump lead direct on the starter? Then try a live direct to the solenoid. Then you'll know if it's the motor, the solenoid or the wiring.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to try today.

I would have yesterday, but I was just completely fed up with sliding around in the snow on my back. Now that I've had some sleep, Im a little more inclined to try again.....

Well, went out there and pulled the starter out. Hooked up my Coleman jumpstart pack and nothing happened. Got an arcy sparky from it, but not much else.

Put the positive lead on the motor connection and the motor spun up fine.

Great, the solenoid is fubar. Stripped it apart, didn't find anything wrong. Put it back together, IT WORKS!! Twice

Used an old Ford repair method and smacked it with a hammer. IT WORKS!! 3 times.

So, I need a new starter. But I decided to put it in anyways and see if the engine worked.

IT RUNS!!! *do a happy dance*

Woke up everybody for a mile around as there's absolutely NO exhaust on it at all...

It now moves under its own power, but I'm not going to start driving it until I can get the new starter. I don't feel like climbing under the truck to smack the starter every time the solenoid decides to quit working on me.

I still need to do the exhaust up, fill the power steering resevoir, change out the distributor (original's got some serious play in it, got a spare), put the bonnet back on and transfer the insurance over.

I took it out on the road to make sure the tranny was working fine. Seemed to shift okay. Dropped the hammer on it and opened it up. Good Lord that thing can ROAR!!! Left two 8 inch wide strips of torn up gravel for about 200 yards!!

So it's not quite my daily driver yet, but it's a hell of a lot closer than it was two days ago!!

So you take a hammer out with you. Not a problem. Thats half the proper mans toolkit.

Hammer - for if it doesn't move and should.
Duct tape - for if it does move and shouldn't.

Sounds good fun though.

Oh, if the ground was dry anywhere within the boundaries of the county I live in, it wouldn't be a problem....
