Pete,
What content are you watching on your 360 from your mac mini? Are you watching divx files? I have used connect 360 but that only does wmv and h264. The tvshows app is great and I think I mentioned TED to Daz a while back but had never tried it out.

You did indeed Newgroup access kind of negated the need though in the end
As far as I know XBMC hasn't been made for the 360 yet.

I'm searching and failing, but is there anything like TED for newsgroups? I'm not the biggest fan of torrents, i can see they serve a purpose but newsgroups are much quicker and hassle free (no sharing/leeching rate or whatever). Sounds a good idea, i get along fine downloading episodes as i remember them normally a few at a time (because i've forgotten a week or two on the trot) but something automated would be excellent... I might have look into something like this for my flat next year.

Can't say I've had any issues so far in the past week. I wake up and my shows are already downloaded. It checks every 15 minutes on multiple sources and they usually come out around 3am. I get up at 10ish

Oh i'm not downplaying Torrents, as i said loads of people get on with them. But theres always the sharing issue which is technically the illegal activity. Newsgroups you don't share so your covered moreso than torrents where you are forced to share (otherwise the whole torrent network would fail). So i'd have to take possible extra precaution peer guardian or whatever its called and people use now days that i haven't done for years now because of newsgroups. There are tracker sites for newsgroups too know under different names, and instead of torrent files there are the equivilent for newsgroups, so i assume it wouldn't be that hard to port over, but i don't seem to be able to find anything

Ah I see. I think torrents have a bigger community around them and more people are working on fun things for that side rather than good old newsgroups. I would have thought, given how long they've been running, that there's something you could do or get.

Pete, (or anyone else) do you have a copy of XBMC on disc?
I've got an old chipped xbox in bits in th kitchen that I plan(ned) to turn into a media box but it kinda stalled when I couldn't get Slayers dashboard on it.
