Is it worth using the readyboost feature?

Depends how much physical RAM you've got. If you have 1Gb then it's definately worth it, if you have 2Gb then it will only occasionally be used and if you have 4Gb then nope.

I've played around with it on my laptop when it's docked its only got 1gb and tbh when i'm using it docked with readyboost and without on battery i seriously can't see the difference... Definately not enough to even be worth plugging it in and out everytime anyway, i'd rather use it to store data

I have a Sandisk 2Gb USB disk. Very nice and small.

Going for £13.99 on Play.com. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/904314...e/Product.html

I'm using a Kingston DT Mini Fun, I got it from DVD.co.uk for about a tenner, seems to do the job with Vista, don't know how fast it is though

I consider those apps to be evil - the Lexar one nearly broke my laptop while I was on holiday.

I did that with my 16Gb Corsair Voyager - was ok the first time and I thought, "Phew". Wasn't so lucky second time round though Get bugger all now, not even a flashing light.

£100 down the swannie

I've tried using the readyboost thingy on my desktop and on the lappy, both have 2Gb RAM and couldn't notice any discernible difference.
