I hate running with a passion.

Unfortunately, it seems like the best way to condition your whole body.

When training for Race For Life I was running like a cheetah (go Thundercats Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo) but yesterday I felt like I was going to throw up on the treadmill.

I blame the cheese.

I don't do running - I'm not built for running

However, I play 2hrs of basketball 2/3 times a week, and play squash a couple of times a week. And then obsess in the gym

And Belmit, there is nothing worth coming to fareham for, I'm trying to get out asap.

I'm not too fussed on what style of running I'm doing - just the best way to lose a few lbs and get healthier and I assumed that long distance would be better than just going for 15 minutes or so. Am I right in this assumption?

I think my Gran used to live in Fareham. She didn't run either.

On the treadmills in the gym the message is that 70-85% of your max heartrate is the optimum zone for fat loss so if you can keep in that sort of area then in theory you should be doing yourself some good. Remember though that diet is an integral part of weight loss and training if you want to do it properly.

I'm never going to go on some strict diet where foods are banned etc. Like Pizza and Chips. but i'm quite good at limiting the snacks and pointless things i eat.

I've cut down on my drinking a lot lately but I still like ales a lot, and nobody will stop me drinking those
