Heard about this earlier, truly awful

Reports seem a little conflicting at the moment though. It definitely does sound like it was him even though no official statements have been made by police etc. Strange as the last reports I heard said there were 2 people on board and no survivors. Yet the Times article seems to imply there were 4 people on board.

The full details will come out in time. Very sad if it is Colin MacRae (or anyone else).

He was a very funny bloke and obviously an extremely talented and brave driver. This is very sad news, gutted.

Heard his helicopter was down earlier but occupants hadn't been confirmed then.

BBC News 24 were just reporting it was 4 onboard but no formal ID had been given yet but it was looking very likely it was him
Very sad news

Its definately him I'm afraid and his son as well. This comes from Dave Plant who Colin McRae was building the R4 with. As far as I know, they have known since very late yesterday afternoon.

Very sad indeed. Rest in Peace.

Shocking news. RIP Colin
