Aye Daz, though it's always me logged in anyway. MS are going to get such an earful if I don't bother with the Tesco swap option. I've had this one back less than 4 months. I don't want this one fixed, I want them to send me a brand new replacement.

A girl at work had a similar thing - Had their box repaired a year or so ago, it failed again just earlier this year, she got it back and then it broke again within a month.

Shouted at them on the phone, got a brand new replacement and blagged a game as compensation.

That's what I'll be trying, having 2 fail within 4 months simply isn't good enough. Never mind the timing of it all what with all the games coming out, it would be rubbish at any time of the year.

The other bad thing with sending it back is that 6 weeks takes me right up to Christmas so there's a chance I may not have it back by then.

That is a proper bitch. I'd be a bit pee'd off but the amount you use yours, you must be well and truly pissed.

Just a though Davey and I know it involves money but you couldn't consider buying a secondhand unit, or trading some games against one and then selling it when you get your old one back? There should be some 2nd hand units floating about what with the Elite in wide release now

Just an idea

i did that as well... although i waited 4 days.

all that they had to do was phone the manager for approval (standard staff can't issue refunds over £20) and he just said yes straight away and i was given my £250 back

even gave them my oldest controller back

When did you buy it and where from? I bought mine in Game, when it died I took it back told em what was wrong and they just gave me a new one (got to keep my Hard-drive).

If it's within 3 years of purchase it shouldn't be a problem as MS made the warranty 3 years free for everyone due to the 3RROD issue

This is the 2nd time mine has died (the other was in July), and I tried the same thing then. Gameplay, who I bought it from, would only go as far as paying for me to get it repaired. It was more hassle than it was worth to argue for more, simply because I could get MS to do it for free.

Indeed there are a lot of Elites around now. Thanks to my wonderful, beautiful fiancee who I love lots, one of them will be delivered to me next Monday. I wubs my Lynnie! \o/

I'll still get my other one fixed, and I'll still be giving MS merry hell. We'd always planned on having a 2nd one at some point anyway (so Lynnie can kick me upstairs to play games when there's something on TV, or when the girlies come around), this has just sped the whole thing up a bit more.

Awww, glad to hear you're getting an Elite next week. Yay for Lynnie
Glad it's all sorted out although definitely give em hell about it going wrong so fast.
