Well of course not If you tell you PC to display 1680x1050 on a 1280x1024 monitor that wont do it either!

Glad you got the colour thing sorted though I'll agree with everyone about the HDMI/Elite, not worth the cost really. If someone was buying new then why not, but it's not really a worthwhile upgrade.

Which TV is it? Ours won't do 1080p but if you give it a 1080p/i signal it recognises it and downscales it to 720p. I thought all LCD/plasmas did this these days.

Sorry, just seen the other thread and realised it's a 1080p TV Got confused in the bugger TV thread and though you were going for 720p

Oops.

A 720p TV will/should read a 1080i signal, but not a P I wouldn't think.

Our Panasonic plasma is only 720p but it accepts and downscales a 1080p signal from the PS3.

Yeah, it does 1080i... but i didn't realise until someone told me last night that component can't do 1080p
