I really like this movie
It's completely sensationalist but some of the effects are awesome and it's easy watching

Got bored after 30 minutes and ended up watching V for Vendeta instead. Equally bad film.
Ended up watching Das Boot till the wee hours which was fantastic |

Strangely enough I've had the DVD for 2 years now but never watched it incase it wasn't as good as I remembered it being when it was on BBC2 in 1995(ish). It was as good if not better, it should be the standard on how to build suspense in a film. |

Blasphemer!!
I remember watching it on BBC2. Mum loved it and presumably knew about it before it was on TV. She watched it without fail. I watched it as well when I was able to squirm out of going to sodding Judo. 95-96 I think it was yeah. Is it the full version you've got? The original was so long that they didn't release it on DVD in its entirety to begin with. I think we now have got the full version. Apart from Der Unfall (Downfall) it is the only WW2 movie made from a German perspective and with German actors and is quite brilliant. |

I've had a few bad experiences with stuff I remember being great in my youf and being ****e when I watched it as an adult so I was very pleased when it turned out to be tip top last night.
It is very strange watching a film/series where the Germans are the protagonists. There was a point where they were hunting a convoy and I was really gunning for them until I realised they were hunting the kind of Merchant Navy ships that my Great Uncle was on during the war. |

Nothing like getting up early after finishing Das Boot at 0230. I'm not sure I can think of anything else that goes on for soooo long whilst keeping 100% of your attention (I don't think strippers last that long).
