Please bare in mind that I don't give a hoot about what camera it has or what features it has or hasn't got. I'm only interested in its ability to be used as a mobile telephone.
The reason I have a preference for the Samsung model is because I find the slide mechanism aesthetically pleasing. Is there a SE model that utilises the 'slide'? If so then I'll most likely take heed of the advice given here about build quality etc... |

Same here but they usually have colour screens, cameras and silly ringtones on them whether you like it or not now. It's all unneccessary fluff in my opinion, since I only use it for making telephone calls and text messages. Unfortunately with all the added features it means you've got to fight through it all to get to the features you actually use. Example: you have 4 different types of text message now, so it's one extra key press EVERY time when I only use SMS :/

Seriously though I'll never complain if a feature is added when it's of no use to me, unless it's reflected in the cost. Meaning I'm quite happy to spend less and have less. Any takers on the SE 'slide' phone finding challenge? If not then the J700 takes it. I'll probably go into town or put the order in this Friday. |

Just had a quick scan through the latest Which? They like the J700. Not a best buy (none of the phones in the 'basic' category are), but recommended nontheless.
The other two in the category are Nokias - 2610 and 1650. |
