Adrian Waterman QC, defending, told the court that when Howson was expelled from school a teacher noted in a report: "This boy will commit a murder before too long. I've never seen a such a disturbed young man." (Link)

I'm not quite sure what the teacher could have done to prevent this tragedy, but the observation was remarkably prescient and very disturbing.

A very good example. His mate who pulled the trigger was not hanged for the murder of Pc Sidney Miles ironically enough.
