Shoulda just said that then, rather than posting the boots (which aren't wanted in the first place anyways)

Should stop picking faults in peoples posts. I've noticed you doing that a lot lately... something on your mind?

You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like.
I'm on a computer.

I wear Arco shoes at work, but they get ordered in the labs.

Didn't know you could get trainer style safety shoes with a steel toecap..
They can but I'd rather get my own because I can pick my own. I'm in them all day up on my feet basically so I need the most comfortable ones I can find. Past experience in the wrong shoes is I'll get an injury from the boot itself long before it saves my foot from something falling.

Most of my chaps at work buy them from arco, but through the company they are given the catalogue and then just choose what they want. They all look Nike like with an air bubble and everything, but are black and fully certified safety shoes.

I don't know for certain but I rather suspect somewhere like HSS Hire or Hewden Hire shops will have some sort of suitable footwear choices, they might or might not be on your high street but I only mention them because there are a couple less than 5 minutes walk away from me so they are pretty much on the high street for me.

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/d70/sd2740

...or go to screwfix.com

The catalogue lists pages of boots, shoes and trainers - the DeWalt range is pretty good and not too expensive either:

I'm going to try Screwfix next weekend because one opened locally. Checked out Millets earlier but they weren't comfortable enough unfortunately. Hopefully those Dewalt ones won't be all wobbly and out of balance like the chucks on their battery drills

Makita kicks ass. My grinder is Makita and it's taken a decade of abuse now.

You hear stories like that all the time about Makita stuff. Having said that, I've got a DeWalt SDS drill and it's been great, even doing OK on my 1920s house made of engineering bricks
