Surely not voting them out when they are clearly the most awful act to ever appear on X-Factor, despite the fact he's slagged them off from day one, is saving them. Whether or not he thought Lucy could win is irrelevant. He always says "we're going to judge it now on the song they sing here", and there is no way on god's green earth anyone with working ears could say Jedward's performance was better than Lucy's in the sing-off. If this is meant to be a talent competition as Simon tries to say it is, then the twins should have been voted off tonight. Instead, Simon did his best to keep them in by letting it go to deadlock. Whether that's simply for the controversy or because he thought Lucy was a threat to his acts is irrelevant, he should have done the right thing and keep the most talented act in (which considering Jedward have no talent should always be an easy decision). It really does make a mockery of the show.

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |

Simon Cowell isn't stupid and I'd be amazed if he didn't know the way the vote goes before he makes his choice, after all, it's his show.
This is the most viewed series in X-Factor history despite being the most talentless and there is only one reason for that and that's John and Edward. Just eliminating them would be stupid because that's all the newspaper talk, media criticism/hype and social media stuff down the drain and all those bring additional viewers in every single week. Whilst I totally acknowledge that they can't sing, John and Edward are the only act I'm remotely interested in watching every week. |

At the end of the day guys, it's a TV show. You don't like it, turn over, far more worthy things to get upset about in life!!

What the chuff would we all debate if Jedward left? Part of me thinks we would all be bored without them.
