She was a sell out, she prostituted every aspect of her life for money and in death that was no different. It was all just one big last PR campaign. The security for her children seemed to revolve around money and just money. Get them millions and they'll be fine. Again, typical Goody attitude that money is priority number one. Even in the face of privacy and dignity, money and the press came first. I feel sorry for the media circus her family has had to deal with, and continue dealing with for the funeral and the aftermath. I don't like being harsh about it, but the sooner she's buried and forgotten the better.
If you want to understand why someone like Jade equates security with money, I suggest you spend some time in Burmondsey.....then you'll understand. It's easy for you to analyse things more effectively from the armchair of your university education, but there are legions of people just like her who see the world in much more simpler terms.

If she was racist I doubt she'd have gone to India and taken part in Big Boss.

Yes, you're right that some things cost less than the prescription charge. What I meant was that some medication is extremely expensive and if NICE chooses not to make it available then it may be out of reach for some patients purely due to financial reasons.

Unless of course her advisor's told her to do it as a way to prove she was not racist, it could have been a PR stunt.

It takes intelligence to be a convincing liar.....something miss Goody wasn't blessed with. Love her or hate her, she was a girl who wore her heart on her sleeve. What you see is what you get, and people like her have personalities bordering on being single dimensional.

Short version? She wasn't clever enough to do what you suggest and make it look convincing.

I was waiting for someone to suggest that but you beat me to the reply. If anyone saw the exit interview from the Celebrity Big Brother where she was accused of racism, you'd know that there was no way she was racist. Her reaction was pure Jade, there's no way she was anywhere near a good enough actor or clever enough to fake it.

Nobody is that good an actor.

You mean, like, a run down heavily working class area of Wolverhampton? Like, raised in a family in debt with beans on toast many a night for dinner? A family who's only just been able to afford a flatscreen TV?

I never went to university, or even college properly. Secondary school > Working apprenticeship. I was incredibly lucky to get the job I have, get out and move to a better area, earn money, get a car etc. Most of my alumni friends are doing crap. Several people from school are in prison, more on class As on a collision course into oblivion. In fact there's only a handful doing *anything*, most are bouncing from Burger King to Big Issue to Poundland.

Trust me, A Place Of Light, I know the value of a pound very well.

Erm haven't been following this thread much recently but NICE doesn't "choose" which medications are available or not. They make clinical guidelines and recommendations. They can strongly recommend a type of medication or procedure but they (as far as I am aware) have no legal enforcement.

Aye, and you try telling young people of today that. And they won't believe you.

FWIW iCraig, I always had you down for an IT graduate with a 2:1
