I get particularly annoyed at the bike "clubs". Big groups of people in lycra, riding like a swarm. They insist in riding several abreast, making passing them impossible, and seem to ignore the rules of the road totally.

I came around a corner on a fairly wide country lane the other day and they were all over the road, on my side, not just on theirs (the road wasn't white lined, but easily enough to pass two vehicles). They then gave me abuse about driving too fast and lots of hand signals suggesting that I enjoyed the presence of my own company too much. Now I was only doing about 40 in an NSL as it was a sharpish bend and I slowed down in case there was something unexpected (like a horse, pedestrian or a tractor. I did not expect an oncoming cyclist, wobbling around and chatting to six of his mates).

Now look, if you are a legitimate road user... do not ride on the other side of the road while approaching a corner... it's suicidal. If you are NOT a legitimate road user, and only a pedestrian (who should walk into the oncoming traffic where possible and so could have been excused for being on my side of the road)... do not "walk" in the middle of the road while approaching a corner... it's suicidal!!!
