Actually, it's only really as Bond! But yeah. *goes for a lie down*

...not like THAT.

The Angels' Share

Starring
  • Paul Brannigan
  • John Henshaw
  • Gary Maitland
  • Jasmin Riggins
Comedy drama

7/10 A great little story about a lad from Glasgow who narrowly escapes prison and tries to turn his life around as he's recently become a father but there's further trials and tribulations on the way. It's not perfect by any stretch but it's entertaining and you can feel a connection to the characters building which is all the more impressive when you realise that most of the young cast have very little formal acting experience.

I've also recently watched Goon, The Losers and Snakes On A Plane but none of them really merit much comment. They're entertaining enough in their own way but nothing more than a few hours of fluff in total.

Last night I stayed up 'til 4am just reading all my old movie reviews in here. Got to this page and suddenly laughed out loud for longer than I have in a long time.

Scroll to post 1227, read the review (I need to see that film again), then Desmo's response, then my response. The Isaac Hayes bit made me laugh like a drain.

Probably bad form to laugh at your own jokes but it threw me off guard. Totally forgot I'd written it.

I laughed, I also realised that I'd written a review of Hard Luck and that I've got no recollection of ever having watched it or even tried to.

End of Watch 8/10

Docu-style film following two LAPD police officers through their days. One handheld, a few clip on cameras & a car cam provide pretty much all of the coverage except what they can't see. Violent in places, very funny in others. A touching movie, full of the nuances of daily life for these guys alongside a developing problem which threatens to become life-threatening. Quite different to anything else around at the moment. Gritty buddy cop movie with excellent performances from the lead actors which makes it believable. This aint a feel good Lethal Weapon type of film though so don't be expecting one!

Brave 8/10

Typical Pixar fare. Cute characters & animals and a lesson to be learnt. So realistic in the animation, there are moments when you can forget it's not real!

There was the twilight one as well. Technically a spoiler if you've read the book but not seen the film.

Edit: that post appears to have been deleted.
