Planned roadworks not being advertised by signange in advance. Did they really think that roadworks on the main Inverness - Aberdeen trunk road weren't going to cause major delays? Ended up having to turn around and take a different route (after 25 minutes of queueing) and was 5 minutes too late to get to where I needed to be (place was now shut). If I had taken the alternate route without the queueing i would have been on time!! grrr /rant

Do you mean snobbery around where people are educated or regarding educational achievement levels or something else entirely?

If vol means in the respect of jobs which require you to have x y and z degree to get it then I'm fully with him there! Being degreeless it's a nightmare at times when job hunting but 10 years of experience I think canes it in some positions compared to a degree!

Christ i've hit some anoooyyyying barriers being degreeless, really knocks it out of me sometimes. Desperately trying to get a "real job"™ but I just don't know what i really want to do, where to start or anything really. I've had a few goes, and I nearly got back door entry to BlackRock in Edinburgh, and I got a glowing review for some recruitment guy in there. The dude above him when he met me liked me, and then a sooner or later i got the phone call being ever so sorry. They would take me on gladly, and in his words basically I just need a degree, it could be in painting nails, but i need a degree to be given a chance, as much as he disagreed that's what management above him required...

So i'm still a waiter, whoop =/

LD That's poop. You know what though, if there's one thing you're amazing at, it's talking and blagging and connecting with people!

If you find yourself an employer who can appreciate that they'll ignore degrees and what. I used to walk into businesses I was interested in, get talking, ask them about their work, explain my experience or interest, ask if there's any jobs and go from there. If they met me.. I walked into work. Sending in CV's... nada. Nothing at all. Police has been my only skill and that's the only place I can apply without degrees.

Self employment ftw tbh

Good luck matieo Something will come to you I'm sure! As said you're mega! Do as I did and you will get there!

^^^I'm in the same boat. Don't know what I want to do and 98% of jobs want a degree just for a basic application :/

Cheers Clare Nice to hear someone with faith in me! I guess i've kinda given up recently which is baaaaad, but my "job" is really starting to grate badly with a shift in management and i foresee my leaving (or being asked) soon enough... Probably time where i should get a move on and find something else!
