I am off work sick, I notice on my work phone I have a missed call from one of the engineers who I normally help out if he needs info or a hand, text him to say I am on sick leave then he try's to call me!!! D'oh! Shouldn't have bothered trying to explain why I didn't answer his call. P.S before someone says I shouldn't be on the Internet then I am bored!!!

No rule to say you shouldn't do anything if you're off work sick!

He might have just been seeing how you are though

Missing out on email banter even though you copy your work AND personal email addresses but people don't reply to both :/

Annoying! Grrr!

Cutesy abbreviations that send a quiver of cringe up my spine e.g. lappy, moby, tix... All of them are totes ridic.

In a similar way, I hate the way the word "bare" can be used to mean "large amounts" or "great"

e.g that was bare fun

I just have no idea why it means that?!

One thing that winds me up a bit, is people commonly misusing words - the use of 'Pacific' instead of 'specific' is one such mix up that has me thinking 'idiot' but this morning, listening to the radio on the way to work I could not believe my ears...

"James Cameron, director of Titanic and Avatar, has completed a 7 mile dive to the bottom of the Specific Ocean"

SORRY WHAT?

THE SPECIFIC OCEAN????

If I hadn't been driving, I would have probably phoned in and advised him to summarily execute himself on the spot for such a horrendous abuse of language.

I think you should complain anyway, that is highly unprofessional.

The misuse of the word may have annoyed you but I'm happy, I'd somehow managed to miss the story so I'm glad it has been brought to my attention.

My current gripe is the irrational* smugness that Rangers fans seem to be exhibiting over what some are calling the "tainted title" - for those who don't know or care much Rangers have gone into administration and been deducted 10 points for this, they're also being investigated for other financial misdeeds and the current owner was barred from being a company director for several years. Now a reasonable person might consider this to be a bit of a crappy situation for your club to be in and it would leave very little to gloat about yet bewilderingly there are some fans smugly claiming that the title is tainted and that it doesn't mean as much when Celtic eventually mathematically win it - it's as if they don't quite make the link that the only reason the title is tainted is because their sodding club is the one that has tainted it with their financial misconduct.

*I'm aware that's probably a tautology calling an Old Firm fan irrational...

I heard the guy on Countryfile I think it was describe someone as being "on Tender Hooks" the other day. Now it's an easy mistake to make for some people and they can spend their life believing that the term is "tender hooks", but, presumably countryfile isn't live, and it is scripted, so how did he make that mistake?
