Just Mum and when I see him Dad, always have done. Apart from when being silly then it's Mother. Or Mummy to really annoy her

My sis refers to my Dad as Norm when he's in the room. His name (surprisingly) is Norman but noone calls him that.

Mum & Dad though I often ask for 'the old man' if Mum answers the phone and I want to talk to Dad.

Only ever Mum and Dad. My dad has some strange names for me though, the most affectionate (in my mind rather than his) probably being 'Kid' (one of his inbuilt Northern roots kicking in no doubt). I like calling my grandad Jack though as it's what everyone knows him as, although his real name is John I think. I know a lot of people called John used to go by Jack, probably not so common nowadays though.

Mum dad.
First names would feel totally stupid and wrong, far to formal. Like a business meeting rather than a family.

I honestly think we just grunt at each other. I can't remember the last time I called either parents "mum" or "dad".

I'm not allowed to call my Mum Mum. She doesn't like it. I just start talking when I want to talk to her really.
In cards I write Muttie as a derivative of Mutter from German what I studied at school. When I speaks to my brother I refer to her as Maman from French. |
