I'll still be in Japan for the first half of next year Pheebs, you should come.

As for the doing V sign, it's fun. You should try it!

I took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagoya, it was very cool.

Whereabouts do JapanAir and Kamikaze Pigeon live? I don't really see them here on boat drinks very often, but if they're close or I travel near them I could see if they wanted to go out for some japanese karaoke or some drinks!
I'm here!!!!! Well, Hyogo actually, half way between Kobe and Osaka. But I go to Nagoya a lot...my head office is there (near Fujigaoka on the Higashiyama subway line) and I have all my boring meetings there. Been to Sakae quite a few times and seen the dodgy bits too (actually, they sometimes put me up in the Nishiki Washington hotel...bang in the middle of the hostess and snack bars).

Next time I'm in town (and I haven't been forced out for a business drink with my Jicho) We'll have to grab a few Nama Chu's. How is your nihon-go by the way...mine is abysmal....gets me by in the izakaiya though

My picture of the shinkansen isn't as good as yours Piggy, good timing!!

Fun ride though.

I know where fujigaoka is, it's the next stop from Sakae isn't it? Where places like ID are and Elephant's Nest are. I haven't actually been there much yet, only when getting lose in Sakae.

I'm learning some nihongo right now! At an internet cafe about 5 mins from my apartment. でも、日本語はちょっと難しい。 少しだけ喋れる。

なまちゅは何ですか。

It's incredibly easy to meet people though - last night we were in our local bar, and some japanese girls came over so we were talking to them in bad japanese. I asked them what their names were, wrote it down in hiragana and they were amazed! "wow!!" and started clapping. Being able to speak a bit of Japanese seems to go a long way. There was an american/japanese guy there also and he was telling us about how foreigners get a lot more attention here compared to somewhere like Tokyo, which works out well for me.

Is there anything I HAVE to do whilst I'm here? I really want to climb Fujisan, but last night my japanese friend told me it was closed till Summer. Maybe I'll still be around, but I'd have to extend my visa - not sure how easy that would be.. Also planning on going to Osaka and Kyoto in the nearish future.

どうも ありがとう。

また ね!
