Next time I'm in town (and I haven't been forced out for a business drink with my Jicho) We'll have to grab a few Nama Chu's. How is your nihon-go by the way...mine is abysmal....gets me by in the izakaiya though |

My picture of the shinkansen isn't as good as yours Piggy, good timing!!
Fun ride though. I know where fujigaoka is, it's the next stop from Sakae isn't it? Where places like ID are and Elephant's Nest are. I haven't actually been there much yet, only when getting lose in Sakae. I'm learning some nihongo right now! At an internet cafe about 5 mins from my apartment. でも、日本語はちょっと難しい。 少しだけ喋れる。 なまちゅは何ですか。 It's incredibly easy to meet people though - last night we were in our local bar, and some japanese girls came over so we were talking to them in bad japanese. I asked them what their names were, wrote it down in hiragana and they were amazed! "wow!!" and started clapping. Being able to speak a bit of Japanese seems to go a long way. There was an american/japanese guy there also and he was telling us about how foreigners get a lot more attention here compared to somewhere like Tokyo, which works out well for me. Is there anything I HAVE to do whilst I'm here? I really want to climb Fujisan, but last night my japanese friend told me it was closed till Summer. Maybe I'll still be around, but I'd have to extend my visa - not sure how easy that would be.. Also planning on going to Osaka and Kyoto in the nearish future. どうも ありがとう。 また ね! |
