Heard on the radio this morning that the EU were planning on banning the pint in pubs in favour of a small measurement by the end of the year and that 1/2 pints would still be available in plastic cups.

Trouble is, I was between snoozes so woke up fully believing that some teetotal Welsh MEP was responsible for removing one of my favourite measurements! I think I was actually livid, until I mentioned it to someone at work and they laughed me down.

Think I'll have a beer.

Subject: EMP Virus
Importance: High

Hello Users,

Please be aware that it has come to our attention in IT that a malicious malware virus was discovered today that is encrypted into the master code of various supposedly ‘safe’ websites (Hotmail / BBC / eBay / Tesco etc) The malicious software known as EMP will cause your computer to slowdown and in some cases reboot.

The main cause of this is a low level electromagnetic pulse that is created by your computers disk drive (usually used for formatting data by administrators) so in the interests of safety can I ask you all not to use the internet for any purpose until informed by us in IT. If you use a website where this virus is present please be aware that there is a chance it will erase everything on your hard drive and in some cases it will also delete anything on disks within 20 feet of your computer so in the interests of safety please keep all credit /debit and bank cards away from your computer.

Regards
Then this...

No one got me, but then I was only in work for 6 minutes this morning before driving to Luton Airport to pick up 2 Italians. I figured the crashed lorry near J16 of the M1 might have been an April Fools joke though.
