Not good MB but hopefully the antibiotics work better on you than they did on me, as it took a few days for me to see a doctor as i didn't have the sudden appearance as you seem to have had. From what you said it just suddenly came on during the day, i just had a very sore elbow until i couldn't take the pain anymore and ended up at doctors. Same issue but different appearance for us both so fingers crossed it clears for you unlike for me

OK, word of advice MB - Don't prick it with a needle.
Sounds nasty, and I'm sure that video doesn't do it justice. *gentle, delicate hugs*

I damaged a bursa sack a few years ago due to throwing myself around on wooden floors playing 5-a-side. The swelling was about golf ball surprise but surprisingly painless. I think the quack said I burst a sack, which must just allow fluid to leak out rather than be truly painful, considering how bad yours sounds (though it did hurt to touch for a few days).
Hope it gets better soon MB

A bit of an update - Matt took himself over to A&E early this morning as the swelling and pain were getting worse. The hospital also said he had a temperature and they have put him on an antibiotic drip. Going to go over and see him now.
