If anyone gets a spare few minutes look at Blue Collar Comedy Tour on youtube. I saw them a few years ago and nearly died laughing.

Marcus Brigstocke as at the top of the list for me to see.
We were supposed to be seeing Russell Howard last Summer in Oxford but the gig got cancelled and now thanks to Mock the Week I've probably seen most of his material.

There used to be two comedy clubs in Exeter Pheebs. Both on Sunday night - one was in Timepiece and was associated with Avalon Hill so they got quite a few well known names down. (Saw Noel Fielding, Lee Mack and Mitch Benn there)
The other was in Mud Dock and run by an independent promotor but he had venues in Torguay and Plymouth too so he dangled the three night mini tour (fri, Sat, Sun) carrot
at people to coax them all the way down to Devon.

EDIT: Keep an eye on the listings at Phoenix too. Occaisionally comedians get booked there. Saw John Hegley.

I must admit to a number of hearty chuckles throughout - I feel he performs with a great level of enthusiasm and creates a strong relation - as if talking to you one-to-one in a pub; a stand-up talent I find very entertaining
Didn't see it last night but got it on DVD. I really like much of his stuff

OooOOo didn't know they had comedy nights in timepiece?!! I thought it was just full of weirdos and sticky floorboards!!

The Phoenix is one of my favourite and most recommended haunts in Exeter. I love it - though have little money to splurge out there (even though it's pretty darn cheaperoo!) I have seen the odd comedian act pass through but nothing regular like my good old Jongleurs!

*might have to open eyes wider in foochure!*

Completely forgot that I had tickets for Russell Howard tonight in Basingstoke until this morning!

That was possibly the best stand-up show I've ever seen. Really, really funny, and the support guy Steven Hall was good too.
