Hehehe, good point. If you're looking for 10K training plans, there are some on RunnersWorld here. You'll only be able to see the 8wk ones because the others are for subscribers only. Don't think I'd want to train for a 10K in 2-4 weeks anyway though!!
They also have lists of the races that are up and coming to help you decide which one you're going to do

£15 a week seems a little pricey though, did you mean a month ? |

You may also get a funky club vest that makes you look sooo sheksy. Training plans: There are dozens on the internet, just make sure that you select one appropriate for your ability. Anyone who is concerned that they are finding it difficult just starting out should remember that it is the hardest part. You will go for longer, and faster, the more you put in. Also remember that it NEVER gets easier, it just gets faster

Got my race number for next weekend. Hope it's not as hot as this. Can't believe I'm actually going to do it!
The club are affiliated with England Athletics and somewhere else and they said I'd get my card at some point to get money off races. The vest is grey with a diagonal black stripe through, so not particularly sexy, sadly

A rampant tiger would be extremely cool on a running vest hehe
How did the Edinburgh marathon go? I bet it was an absolute scorcher and really don't envy you at all. Went to running club tonight and we did a speed session. 10 minute warm up run, 6 x 400m sprints with a 2 minute recovery in between and then 10 minute cool down run. Hard work but it wasn't too bad and I was quite pleased with the speed of my recoveries. I also raided my pennies jar and paid my membership fee They seem to think I'll do OK on Sunday and have said they'll enter me into their women's league... eek! I'm also being lent a club vest to run in... wit wooo They were all a lot more chatty with me this week (think they were making sure I wasn't a 1 week wonder) and they're a really friendly bunch Glad I joined!!

Great work Kate, looks like you've found your feet
I went for my first run in a long time tonight....and the first on road for years. Did 4.17km in 25 minutes. Will try and stay out longer next time
