Nobody ever said our wonderful politicians (on either side of the pond) had a lick of common sense. They're all a bunch of brainless twits. From the country leader down to town mayor. And everyone in between. Anyways, I'm turning this political, so I'll

Somthing to do with age sales is happening at my local Sainsburys on July 15th or something. Not sure exactly what as I didn't hear the entire annoucement and can't find anything online about it but I think it's something along the lines that everyone will be ID'ed.

My local Sainsburys have notices up saying that they will now ask for ID for age restricted items for 'anyone that is lucky enough to look under 25' How patronising is that?

Holy thread revival batman!
Marie and I were nearly not served in Sainsburys because they're "not supposed to serve people in drink". We haven't been drinking at all! What's that about then eh?! |

Well I've had half a glass now! And it's a widely used expression! To be "in drink"!

I've heard 'in the drink', but that's more nautical than alcoholical.
If someone said to me 'We don't serve people in drink", I'd wonder what they did serve people.
