End of the world you say? We're all doomed.

Scan have been excellent for me. Only problem I had was when they were facing a backlog of orders. It looked like they were going to miss my delivery date but I managed to get hold of someone and they fulfilled my order there and then, at about 6pm. Arrived the next day poifect

I've made one order so far from Scan and I was impressed with them. I ordered on the Saturday of the last Bank holiday weekend so I was expecting the stuff (bluetooth dongle/Samsung 500Gb disk/Icy Box external HDD enclosure) to be despatched on the following Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery. The site even told me that would be the case. Imagine my surprise to receive the goods on the Tuesday!

I had been wanting a Samsung disk paired with an Icybox enclosure for a while. I then noticed that the Samsung disk had £2-3 off one day and grabbed it.

I also got some free delivery. So I reckon I saved about £6-7 with that and the cheaper disk. How? Well I'm a member of the Hexus forum. If you sign up there and make 25 (non-spammy) posts you can align your Hexus account with your Scan account and receive free delivery. Scan ask that you make sure you order at least £20 excluding VAT and Hexus like you to carry on posting with roughly 3 posts a week. I don't think its much to ask for free delivery. This is only for the standard delivery I believe. If you want special Saturday delivery or something, expect to pay then.

Another excellent delivery from Scan, 2Gb of RAM to add to the media box, LepDust's thread on the benefits of more memory and as it was £28 with the free delivery from AV Forums I thought why the hell not. It arrived quickly and well packaged and it was cheap, does it get any better?

Sounds like a great price although I've not kept up with component prices lately.

RAM is getting scary cheap. If you need DDR2 now doesn't seem like a bad time to get it.

On a related matter, in recent months I've also had stuff from Ebuyer (super saver - free - delivery) OcUK, and Dabs. The first two arrived fine, next day (yup, even free delivery next day though that isn't guaranteed). Dabs were a disaster (only went there because they were cheapest). Took a month of missed estimated shipping dates before the finally got it out the door, but they couldn't even put the right products in the box. When I complained they essentially told me they knew what they'd sent me better than what I could see right in front of my face. I did, eventually, get my money back. Certainly won't be going there again, and they used to be good. :/

Another vote for Scan here - bought my E8400 off them for £129 - a full £15 less than OcUK were charging plus I've got free delivery for life

I bought some stuff from Scan a while ago. It was a Samsung 500Gb SATA disk, an IcyBox enclosure for the disk and a decent Bluetooth dongle.

Scan were the cheapest for the disk and enclosure and no-one else sold the Bluetooth dongle. I got free delivery being a member of the Hexus forums. Once you make 25 (non-spam) posts you can activate your Scan account to align with your Hexus forum account. All they ask is to post three times a week and to spend about £20 (ex VAT) minimum. The order was despatched on a Sunday with delivery for Wednesday. Imagine my surprise to see it arrive on Tuesday which was amazing considering the Monday was a Bank Holiday.

I'm pricing up my next PC which will be some months off unfortunately but apart from the fact that Scan don't sell Geil or G.Skill RAM (only Corsair) I'm planning to get everything from Scan as they are cheapest.

I'm after some more memory for the laptop. Lep's thread has kinda given me a poke, being Vista and 1GB
