Saw this the other day and I thought this too. The trailer is all the best bits tbh.

Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read!

As iCrag said 13 years passed since the outbreak and when we join the film so I'm sure tigers and stuff will have consumed what was left.

End Spoiler Alert!

Watched this last night, and its a poor attempt unfortunately, the film never really got going anywhere, i remember with 30 mins to go thinking, where can they take this without making things worse? They should have explored so much more. Booooo

Would have been much better if they had gone into how the 'virus' had infected everyone, what it did, how it spread etc....

Would have probably had more nightmares though

End Spoiler Alert!

Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read!

IIRC it was when Will Smith was doing his "There is no God" speech to the chick, i.e. counting down how many people died, what happened to those that survived etc

End Spoiler Alert!
Thought it was a decent film but one that had so much more potential than was actually utilised, the final half ended all too soon, would have liked to have seen more exploration of the organisational structure of the infected, more tension/chases and more exploration of who is good/bad etc. Enjoyable watch though!

i thought it was yubbish.

the CG was guff and great all at the same time. the stuff they added in was rubbish. the stuff they took out was outstanding.

Bit of a thread revival after a couple of months but I grabbed a good HD version of this and have just watched it again.

I was very disappointed after I first saw it as I said above. I've since read the book.

Watching the film again this evening was like watching something completely different - I think because it didn't have the annoying stop-start pausing that it had before transformed it from a film that irritated me greatly to one which I quote enjoyed. I had the knowledge of the book to go from as well but even so, I found it a good view. Easy to watch, not a huge amount to think about and a enjoyable way to kill nearly two hours.

Not sure about the ending compared to the book, but I can forgive it that.
